A little about me!

I am an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Seattle University. I received my Ph.D. from Rice University studying Cognitive Affective Neuroscience and Health Psychology and Behavioral Medicine in 2023. I also have a certificate in Teaching and Learning from Rice University's Center for Teaching Excellence.

I completed my graduate work in the Translational Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience Lab (T-SCAN) with Dr. Bryan Denny and in the Leal Neuroscience of Memory and Aging Lab with Dr. Stephanie Leal. My research primarily focuses on the neurobiological and immunological mechanisms of emotion regulation and how they relate to health outcomes in highly stressed and aging populations. I invite you to check out my current projects to better understand my interests. Feel free to get in touch with me to discuss potential collaborations.

I am passionate about teaching and was a 2021 Rice University Center for Teaching Excellence Graduate Fellow. As a fellow, I mentored other graduate students in best teaching practices and develop and facilitate a teaching workshop on fostering motivation in the classroom.

I am a proud alumn of UC Berkeley, Class of 2018! Go Bears! I have also worked in many labs all over the country and the world such as the Alzheimer's Disease Center in the East Bay, UC Berkeley Calm Program, the APA Practice Directorate, University of College Dublin Youth Mental Health Lab, and the UC Davis Lab for Comparative Neurobiology of Monogamy.

I currently live in Seattle with my wonderful husband Graham and sweet, but often naughty, dachshund Cosmo.
